Radnor Lake

1160 Otter Creek Rd. Nashville, TN 37220

Calling all nature lovers! Radnor Lake State Natural Area has over six miles of hiking trails, including the Otter Creek Trail and Lake Trail, and provides an optimal opportunity to see native wildlife of the Nashville area. Located south of Nashville, the 1,332 acres of naturally preserved landscape offers perfect day-time activities to visitors of all ages and is open from 6am to 20 minutes after-sunset every day of the year!

There is no camping or picnicking allowed in the Park because of its status as a Class II State Natural Area, but this does not take away from the great opportunity of hiking or birding, the two most popular activities.

Radnor Lake State Park was originally used for watering steam engine locomotives and other various needs of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company in 1914. Eventually, the company sold the property to the state in 1973 after unsuccessfully attempting to develop it and Radnor Lake State Park became Tennessee’s first Natural Area.
