Cornelia Fort Airpark

2640 Airpark Drive Nashville, Tennessee 37206

The Cornelia Fort Airpark was built in 1945 and operated until the city of Nashville acquired the privately owned property and incorporated it into Shelby Park in 2011. It is named after Cornelia Fort, the first female pilot to die on military duty in American history while serving in World War II,  and the airpark was built near her family farm. Nashville has preserved the original tarmac and runway and locals widley use the park as a running track.
